The club's five core values, deliberately in this order:

1. Come back alive.
2. Come back friends.
3. Respect the land.
4. Have fun.
5. Get to the top.

Getting to the top is optional. Getting down is mandatory.

It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves.

Some things are within our power, while others are not.

Because it's there.

The mountains are calling and I must go.

Technique and ability alone do not get you to the top; it is the willpower that is most important.

The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.

Confine yourself to the present.

Often the mountain gives itself most completely when I have no destination, when I reach nowhere in particular, but have gone out merely to be with the mountain as one visits a friend with no intention but to be with him.

Mountains are not fair or unfair, they are dangerous.

Difficulties strengthen the mind, as labor does the body.
